International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study of the interactions between sovereign states, as well as the roles of non-state actors, international organizations, and transnational entities in the global arena. It encompasses various aspects, including diplomacy, conflict, trade, human rights, and environmental issues, focusing on how countries and other actors engage with one another across borders.

The field examines the political, economic, and social processes that shape international interactions and the underlying principles guiding state behavior, such as power dynamics, security, cooperation, and international law. Scholars in international relations also analyze historical events, theories of global politics, and the implications of globalization. Overall, IR seeks to understand how global relations influence the behavior of states and the international system as a whole.
