Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The objective of the game is to score runs by hitting a ball pitched by the opposing team’s pitcher and running around a series of four bases arranged in a diamond shape. The game is played on a field that has a diamond-shaped infield and a larger outfield.

Each team takes turns batting and fielding; while one team bats, attempting to hit the ball and advance around the bases, the other team fields, trying to prevent runs from scoring by getting batters out through various means such as catching batted balls, tagging bases or runners, and striking out batters.

Baseball is known for its strategic elements and is often referred to as “America’s pastime.” The game consists of nine innings, during which each team has a chance to bat and score runs. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. The sport has a rich history and a significant cultural impact, with professional leagues, including Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States, attracting large audiences and fans worldwide.
